2nd Sunday before Lent

Contemporary life can be so demanding but by keeping our focus on the eternal God we can gain a better perspective on life. In the words of St Teresa of Avila’s famous ‘bookmark’ (found in her prayer book):

Let nothing disturb you;

Let nothing frighten you.

All things are passing.

God never changes.

Patience obtains all things.

Nothing is wanting to one who possesses God.

God alone suffices.

Collect

Almighty God,

you have created the heavens and the earth

and made us in your own image:

teach us to discern your hand in all your works

and your likeness in all your children;

through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord. Amen
